Zuzanna Hope

Zuzanna Hope (née Olowska) was born in Gdansk, Poland in 1983, toward the end of the Communist rule of the country. As a teenager she studied at the Academy of Art in her home city. She lived and worked in both London and Oxford before relocating to the countryside in Portugal. Hope never had any doubt as to her professional destiny, having been born into an intensely artistic environment, with family members known around the world for their artistic achievements. She grew up surrounded by canvases and the smell of oil paint and turpentine and her playground was the frequent meetings of her bohemian parents and their friends. Hope was issued her first commission at just 10 years old and, since then, has dedicated her life to improving her skills through the exploration of techniques, mediums and their nuances. Hope has now come to rest in the beautiful Portuguese countryside and has positioned herself in a serene hillside retreat, overlooking the beautiful Marco de Canaveses, ready to sacrifice herself to the manifestation of artistic ideas that have been developing in her mind throughout her life.
